In association with International Cat Care the Society Of Feline Artists is delighted to be part of ‘The Complete Cat’ at the beautiful Rook Lane Gallery in Frome, UK from the 23rd November – 8th December 2018.We are please to say that ICC will get 25% of the sales of all the artwork for their wonderful work for cats around the world.
Christine Lester is one of the S.O.F.A. artists taking part.
Christine was living in Somerset when she heard someone on national radio from SOFA describing the group and decided immediately to get in touch! A couple of exhibiting years later, she was selected as a full member and has really enjoyed being in such talented company.
Now living in Suffolk, Christine teaches adults and paints a wide range of subjects, usually involving people and animals. However, she’s always happy to come back to painting cats. Even in the ‘everyday moggie’ there’s so much personality, from elegant aloofness to winsome cheekiness.
In her work, she likes to experiment with new techniques. Lately, this has meant mixed media, gold leaf and exciting backgrounds – she’s always on the lookout for something original to enhance her feline portraits but, fundamentally, it’s about bringing out the cat’s character and beauty.
Christine says, “Never boring, always challenging – that’s cats and painting them.”
