Annual Exhibition
Llewellyn Alexander Gallery
The annual Exhibition for The Society of Feline Artists is on at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in London and it features the work of Full and Associate members of SOFA. It was a very special show, our 20th, and we celebrated with cake and champagne.
The 20th London show opened it’s doors for the private view on a blustery September day. The show looked wonderful and everyone enjoyed a glass of champagne and a piece of the celebration 20th show cake as well as the chance to see so much wonderful cat art.
Kay Young, our chairman, gave the welcoming speech and then the show was opened by our Patron David Grant, a great speaker who always gets everyone laughing.
David drew the ticket for the Friends Prize Draw.
The Friends Prize this year is Pink Cushion, by Jackie Coote. Congratulations to Sue Stewart who won this beautiful painting. If you would like a chance to win a painting by a SOFA member please become a Friend of the Society.
Kay thanked Jillian and the staff at Llewellyn Alexander for their hard work on our behalf and presented the society’s gifts to show our appreciation.
There was a huge flower arrangement to for Jillian, made by Beckenham Flower Studio who did a beautiful job.
Then came the announcement of the gallery prize. It was won this year by Sara Butt for Handsome Chap. Congratulations Sara, a very beautiful painting and a well deserved prize.
Then on to the cutting of the cake to celebrate our 20th show with Llewellyn Alexander. It looked wonderful with the society’s logo in icing, many thanks to Hannah`s Cakes.
Kay did the honours, cutting the cake and everyone had a piece to go with their champagne.
With the show officially open every one enjoyed chatting and looking at the work.
The show is on until the 18th of September at Llewellyn Alexander, opposite Waterloo Station in London.
