Annual Exhibition
Llewellyn Alexander Gallery
21st August to 19th September 2014
The annual Exhibition for The Society of Feline Artists is now on at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in London and it features the work of Full and Associate members of SOFA.
The London show opened it’s doors for the private view on a very wet August day. It was wonderful to see so many people come out in such awful weather. But the show looked wonderful and at least everyone was warm and dry in the gallery, with a glass of champagne and the chance to see so much lovely work on display.
Kay Young, our chairman, gave the welcoming speech and then the show was opened by our Patron David Grant who soon had everyone laughing. He’s such a good speaker.
David drew the ticket for the Friends Prize Draw.
The Friends Prize this year is Golden Eyes, a linocut by printmaker Alex Johnson. Congratulations to Gillian Weeden who won this beautiful print. If you would like a chance to win a painting by a SOFA member please become a Friend of the Society.
Kay thanked Jillian and Ernest and the staff at Llewellyn Alexander for their hard work on our behalf. She presented the society’s gifts to Jillian and the staff to show our appreciation.
Then came the announcement of the gallery prize. It was won this year by Tamsin Lord for Peacock Feather Playtime. Congratulations Tamsin, a very beautiful painting and a well deserved prize.
With the show officially open every one enjoyed chatting and looking at the work.
The show is on until the 19th of September at Llewellyn Alexander, opposite Waterloo Station in London.
