The annual Exhibition for The Society of Feline Artists is now on at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in London until the 15th of September.
The London show opened it’s doors for the private view on warm August day. The show looked wonderful and everyone enjoyed a glass of champagne as well as the chance to see so much wonderful cat art.
Kay Young, our chairman, gave the welcoming speech and then the show was opened by our Patron David Grant, a great speaker who always has wonderful stories to get everyone laughing.
David drew the winning ticket for the Friends Prize Draw, which this year is Slipper Slumber by Janet Pidoux. If you would like a chance to win a painting by a SOFA member please become a Friend of the Society.
Kay thanked Jillian and the staff at Llewellyn Alexander for their hard work on our behalf and presented the society’s gifts to show our appreciation. There was a beautiful flower arrangement for Jillian and chocolates for the staff and of course a gift for David too.
Then came the announcement of the Llewellyn Akexander S.O.F.A. Award. It was won this year by Hildegarde Lampers for Fierce Mother Love. Congratulations Hildegarde, a very beautiful painting and a well deserved prize.
With the show officially declared open every one enjoyed chatting and looking at the work.
The show is on until the 15th of September 2017 at Llewellyn Alexander, opposite Waterloo Station in London.
