We’re delighted to showcase a new siamese watercolour by Marian Forster S.O.F.A. It’s wonderful to see her returning to her siamese subjects again.
Marian’s new work captures the unforgettable personality of a much-loved Siamese cat in an utterly charming watercolour. This isn’t your average portrait; it’s a stylish, fanciful glimpse into a feline social life.
The artist shared how her cat’s legendary character continues to inspire her:
“I recall what a character he was and what tales we still tell of his antics. This of course feeds my imagination to imagining all sorts of unlikely scenarios to paint!”
In this colourful watercolour, Marian brings that imagination to life. We see the Queen stepping out in style, calling on her friends. She’s dressed with elegant jewellery (look closely for the shimmering gold bracelets around her legs and the delicate gold necklace around her neck) and mice dance around the edges of the painting.
This painting is a beautiful tribute to the playful spirit of a cat, transforming fond memories into a whimsical, elegant, and thoroughly stylish work of art.
