The View from Behind

Sarais Crawshaw S.O.F.A. uses coloured pencil on buff paper to capture the undeniable presence of a Bengal Tiger from behind.

Notice how the texture of the pencil and the warmth of the paper make those iconic stripes practically glow. It’s magnificent. The artist turns a rear view into a dramatic encounter by capturing the tiger’s head in profile.

Is he just about to turn and spot us?
